What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 2)

You kneeled down taking first pic , stood for second

I had 4 marks on the boot lid, from a rack fitted before my ownership, a job I’d been meaning to do.
I went to my local detailing supplier for advice…he said mmm, it needs wet sanding, then the car will need polishing all over and it’ll cost £450 and I can do it.
24 hrs later, no wet sanding, the marks have gone also did the rest of the car whilst the weather was good.

That looks pristine. What did you use for the white lettering on your tyres?

TY, I use a Toma tyre paint pen and plenty of patience

Finally got around to doing the underside of the boot lid:

Needed a new boot seal and struts, thought I would add the led lights whilst I was there. By no means perfect, but significantly better.

New one is a 1.5 on 16” wheels. How do you find the difference?

Certainly got to work it harder which is fine for a “fun days” car but in all honesty for my daily commute the 2.0 is the best! I prefer the look and feel of the 16s though so give me a 2.0 on 16s please. Love them both though really. Just put my order in for my next one to arrive in around 6 months time, gone for a Homura RF for the Winter.

Washed both.
Decided can’t keep both.
Drove both to decide which stays and which goes.
Heart says NA stays, but head says NA goes.

Tough call, I like both equally glad I’m not in your shoes

As @Squibnocket1 said that’s a toughy…my head said NC too…so I now have an NA.

What a Dilemma …don’t envy you one bit [except currently owning 2 x MX-5 ]

Head v Heart …always difficult

Some times when you ‘Can’t see the Wood for the Trees’ …just go with your ‘gut’

Or try and objectively do a Cost/Benefit Analysis [Pros/Cons] on each vehicle [This Is Not Just About Finance but e.g. Emotional cost because us enthusiasts do tend to get attached to our MX-5’s  :broken_heart:]

Or try Brainstorming Alternative Solutions e.g. Sell Both and buy an NB or ND ???

Needs work though, wheel refurbs, shocks, couple of dings. The NA wants for nothing…

Other than a home with a garage :disappointed:

That’s why we have SORN !

Funny, I wanted an NC (Niseko in icy blue to be precise) but price led me to an NA and now I feel I got the right car in the end.

I don’t know if anyone else suffers from little brown leaves, but in my area we have swarms of little brown leaves.
They manage to infiltrate everywhere, you can open your bonnet and there they’ll be.
You can never get them all, they’re very good at hiding or getting into areas a vacuum can’t easily reach.

So, in otherwords, so far today I’ve vacuumed up leaves inside my car
(and had my seat attack me when I didn’t have my head quite out of the way when using the back adjuster to get in better with said vacuum - it’s such a vicious spring!).

I get loads of little brown seeds not leaves, I tend to use a cover to prevent them getting where they shouldn’t

The dreaded brown leaf (for scale next to the R).

The only cover I ever had couldn’t cope in windy conditions and also rubbed too much.

Had my NC Launch Edition mot’d today. Passed with compliments.
Now just to have to see how my first physio appointment on Monday for my fractured pelvis and thumb goes to see if I can be let loose on the roads again. :crossed_fingers:t3:
