GTX because it had GT in the name, and Duckhams because it was green. ![]()
How about this suggestion for law number 3?
If something is rattling, turn up the volume on the stereo. ![]()
And we could buy 5 gallon drums at Trade through work whenever its garage put in an order. Six more drums gave work another price break.
My old Mini used a lot of it…
We used to put Duckhams in our bikes because it looked good through the little inspection window. ![]()
Actually, one of the lads filled his two stroke tank with it…i don’t recall any problems so it was definitely an all rounder.
Strange that December’s recall letter said they were preparing parts and there would be further contact…
I’ll give my local dealership a call then and get it booked in ![]()
I think that the letter caused confusion. The dealers don’t order parts until you contact them to book it in. I rang to query when it would be done and the reply was “ We’ll order the parts and ring you back when they arrive to get it booked in”. So basically nothing happens until you contact them, as they don’t know which main dealer you want to visit.
Not what I’ve done to the car today, more what I did on behalf of the car today……..
Placed a very very cheeky bid in for a genuine new lower arm …
Happy days indeed ![]()
What a way to run a recall! The letter doesn’t say that at all, it says owners will be notified once parts are available…
I think they’re telling you to tighten it yourself as they can’t find their toolbox.
Mine had the work done last week. It was only by going in that they knew about my car as it has never been serviced there so they had no record of my ownership although I have bought parts there. It was booked in for ten days after my visit. They would have ordered the part at that time. Although I thought the job would only take two to three hours it actually too nearly six as they had to wait for the engine to be cold as the mechanic has to lean over to the back of the engine and fuel is spilt when the fuel pipe is disconnected.
I think I’ll ring my local dealer, not heard a thing about this yet. I just wonder if they are waiting for contact from myself, if so it’s a poorly worded letter that’s been sent out. I’ll update if I get anything positive from the call![]()
They didn’t take long with mine, I took it in the night before so they were working on a cold engine first thing next morning.
Water in the bottom of the boot pan soaking the boot liner. Cleaned up both rear light clusters that looked like this……..
Job done.
Repaired a puncture using Holts Tyreweld. Drove to garage afterwards to get it repaired properly but they said they don’t carry out repairs if a sealant has been used. Really annoying as tyre was only six months old. Won’t make that mistake again!
Generally depends on the sealant used, as they’re not all the same. If it’s the current generation Tyreweld from Holts, it can be washed out.
But sounds like a ‘blanket rule’ from that garage unfortunately.
What have i done today?
I let the wife drive the ‘5
wasnt for another few hours later when she thought it a good time to bring up her mister meaner!
havent yet seen the damage but at least they pop off easily
You got me at calling the wife Sex Pest ![]()
The work on my NC front bumper continued today.
Fitted the remaining two spoiler struts to front splitter, as mentioned in an earlier post to try lift the splitter somewhat to gain ground clearance.
Priced up Zunsport front mesh grilles…£180 for the pair….
Opted for 1.5mm aluminium anodised mesh sheet £30 (enough for both grilles), 8 M4 cap heads and nylocs and washers £5
Bottom grille fitted, pretty straightforward, main grille may be a tad harder as I don’t want to remove original moulded grille location tabs.
Pics aren’t the best but you get the idea.
Fitted new strut brace and rocker cover. Had to fit new PCV valve as old one was brittle.
Pic taken before I fitted the new one
Judging by the amount of time and money you spend on that car, i reckon it’s going to be one really sweet NC! ![]()
