What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 2)

Just to check… in France was that a 2 Pound or 2 Euro?

Im in Europe in a few weeks… think it may sting lol

Exactly a month after I was shunted on the motorway, I drove my beloved bronze NB out of the garage. It’s been a slog, and there’s still work to do, but she’ll live a bit longer and I’m a happy bunny.

Hi DirtyHabit… my bad, I’ve corrected the error and equated it to £s.

As I understand it, the Spanish government has reduce fuel duty.

@exiled-viking How did you manage to secure the badge to the grille?

Had a nagging feeling that the battery on Moxie could do with charging. 24hrs later, fully charged :raising_hands:

Downside, I accidently broke one of the hose clips on the battery cover :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:. Anyone know of a 3D print file for the battery cover on the NC’s?

I made a carbon fibre…..mounting plate fixed with 2 x 3m bolts 4 cm long with nuts drilled two holes in the grill secured the bolts to the mounting plate….job done….!

Gave Bullit a hug and a pat on her steering wheel and loads of praise :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: because after being surprisingly and most annoyingly

:ambulance: Triple 999’ed with siren & blue light late Monday night to A&E [high temperature/suspected pneumonia and on admission clot on lung] ………finally released yesterday after mucho scans/tests/drugs :face_with_spiral_eyes: and me using all my powers of persuasion to let me come home before they wanted to release me…….

[Word to the wise…….relatively easy to get admitted inspite of what they say on the news……….getting discharged quite another matter…….■■■ ………what a palavar…….even after Consultant said OK]

Lesson learnt………that’ll teach me to get too poorly before asking for help  you numpty

So…….no clot and well on the mend re pneumonia :joy:

Why did Bullit get her hug………….because with the magnificent 300-400 miles I do each year I was convinced I’d come back to a dead battery

Bless her……………..she started first time :hugs:

You are both correct of course. I was on oral antibiotics before admission but they weren’t working….hence admission so they could put them in intraveneously

As for using Bullit a bit more…….problem is garage I rent for her is a several minute puff up a slight slope which as a cream crackered old lady [arthritis, oesteo-arthritis, 1980s lower back whiplash injury and I’ve shrunk 3 cm] is a case of gritting my false teeth even without the pneumonia …..plus I’ve become a bit of a wuzz this last year I’ve noticed re going out in bad weather …..

Bullit had welding, new cills and undersealing back in 2019 and although not bad for a 21 year old who wasn’t garaged until 2019 I’ve known she needs more bodywork so have been saving me pennies since then

Bodyshop guy I saw Xmas Eve morning said come back in March and not before you’ve replaced the rear wheel arches so twice last month tried to book her in with local specialist [Club Members]….no joy. Will be a tad more assertive next week :crossed_fingers:

Then I might finally feel okay about showing Bullit at a Meet at last :joy:

Now then, Bullit [NB 2.5] was named for her shape plus deference to the late actor Steve McQueen….one of his movies being Bullitt

But as many know he’s also famous for escape attempts in the movie The Great Escape and he also did a movie based on a real life chap called Papillon and his escape attempts from Devils Island

If ever I had any doubts about naming Bullit correctly …these were dispelled last week in my attempts at ‘escaping’ the hospital

Valerie Singleton would be very proud of you. Today mudflaps, tomorrow Tracy Island.

YOU DONT HAVE TO BE MAD TO DRIVE A 5
BUT IT HELPS

Several of my neighbours came and asked me why I had a pile of paperback books under each wheel of my car. I used them to make sure I had the flaps at the same level both sides but fitted the fronts one Mills and Boon lower than the rears.
