@Milnathort Ah! Satellite the dish, the scourge of the house aesthetic.
Seeing the tiny people and their tiny canoes and boats in the photo really brings home the scale of the river!
When I left the Army I built A 68 footer ( timber Wolf mored at Dark Lane Hatton Flight ) and Lived on it for four years good times
Some ferry spotting from the Isle of Arran. The first two are MV Isle of Arran on two different days and from different angles. The third is MV Alfred which is on charter to Caledonian Macbrayne for the Western Isles routes instead of her usual home on Orkney to the North Coast of Scotland.
Blakeney, Norfolk at nearly higher tide. Came up another 260mm after these shots, due to the equinox…
Car park that is usually crammed!
Only way to get about for an hour or two…
Some pics from the RS Aero World Championships at Hayling Island a few weeks ago - roughly 175 Aeros in all, and a great experience to sail in. My boat is the one with tape on the side deck, althought they all look the same. The ‘clock’ is the tidal streams in Hayling Bay at various times relative to high and low water, with the hatched area being the sand banks - Chitchester Bar and West Pole Beacon to the right / east .
Helped out on the night photo shoot at Duxford and had the chance to grab a couple of photos.
P-51D Mustang Jersey J e r k (actually an Australian built CA-18 Mustang 21) providing the engine run element of the event…
(Forum auto censor kicked in for aircraft name)
My best efforts from the other night’s Northern Lights… mostly red with some green at times. Fab to see - the first time I’ve ever see the Lights. I’ve since discovered the colours vary with height - red being the highest and green the next highest - and the gas being excited by the falling electrons - red being oxygen and geeen being nitrogen. Pictures from South Lincolnshire.
