What is the best colour for the MX5? (This should be fun lol)

With regards to the MK1, It’s strange how the colour can change the whole look of the car.

As far as I’m concerned…

BRG makes the MK1 look like an old classic. (I personally feel that in BRG it wouldn’t look too out of place in an old 70’s film)

Yellow or Blue make the shape look like it could have been designed in the last 5 years.

Red (I hate to admit it) gives the car quite a sporty look.

Black looks brilliant when it’s been lowered with some big wheels.

But white doesn’t really say anything to me. (For some reason all that pops into my head is “Wedding car”)

So, Whats the answer?

Well, The best colour for an MX5 is obviousley… The colour of whichever one you own !

  8. BRG (although there are certain ones that would jump a few places)

Was yellow a standard colour for MK1s? like it… not many cars can get away with yellow - it looks ridiculous when you see a ford focus in yellow but it works on the MX5…

The yellow is certainly on the limited edition california (the next mx5 for me).

I dont know if it was limited to that edition though.

Eunos Roadsters had two special editions that came in sunburst yellow, The “J limited” and “J limited II”. The J limited II came later and had a black windscreen surround.

In the UK I think we only got the “California” with it.

I don’t think it was ever an option to have a non limited edition UK MK1 in yellow (Although I could be wrong).

I think it’s a shame because it’s one hell of a colour !

 Never seen a 5 colour I did’nt like.

Anyhow, I liked BRG, SWMBO liked Crystal Blue (you don’t get Roadsters that colour though ) So, in the interest of keeping my jugular vein intact, we got 'em both!Embarassed

BRG appeals to my eye…but that tan roof will have to go one day.

Merlot is the best in my viewThumbs up but we could not find one worth buying at the time.

Another byast opinion. lol … When I was looking it had to be either black or white. No particular reason other than personal preference.

I love my black Mk1 as you can get an amazing shine. Bu99er to keep clean though.

Odd how black & white are opposites but both a pain to keep clean.
