What is the best colour for the MX5? (This should be fun lol)

I could not find a thread dedicated to what everyone thinks is the best possible colour for the MX5.

As I am looking for my first '5 I have been thinking about this and just cannot decide lol

So what does everyone think? Maybe some images to back up your choice?

Surely the model has some bearing here, i.e. what works best on a Mk1 may not suit the Mk3.5?

My favourites are Brilliant Black on a Mk1 and Lava Orange Mica on a Mk2/2.5. For a single colour that works equally well across all the models I would choose a Merlot/Art Vin Rouge type of colour.

I really like the Merlot and the orange.

I love my brilliant black - but OMD it’s a pain to keep it looking spick and span {#emotions_dlg.shock}

True, but very easy to get a very good colour match should you need the odd damaged panel refinishing.

From a MK1 point of view:

Green looks the classiest
Red looks the fastest
Black looks the meanest

(they were my three favourites when I was looking for mine…)

I thinks roadsters / sports cars should be BRIGHT colours so I went for an unusuall SPLASH GREEN and thats what I like.

MK1 - BRG
MK2 - Classic Red
MK3 - Winning Blue

I love all the blues across the range.
And there’s something quite special about the Niseko’s Icey Blue.
I’m not fan of white but the Marble White’s also hold my interest.

I always wanted a Galaxy ‘stealth’ Grey tho think they look better with a tan roof.

 hopfully with out sounding big headed,i have been lucky enough to have had all the colours over the years i have been doing this,but i have 3 top colours 1)black or black(theirs a surprise).2) red…HHHMMMM3)Mk1 green (BRG)…classic.

Haha as i thought this has made it a harder decision lol

I like the electric blue as it really stands out, I like the merlot because its grown up and refined, I like the red as it does give it a sporty look, I like the black as its masculine, My wife likes white cars.

Racing Bronze, not as common as red, doesn’t show the dirt, and in psychology orange is a welcoming colour Big Smile
