What is your favourite wine?

Hi Mick, had to pop in to Asda for a prescription, ended up buying two Jam Shed bottles, a Shiraz and a Chardonnay! Going to daughters for England match tonight so might take them both! :+1:

Barrie - had some Jam shed shiraz last night. A nice wine,
smooth and fruity - the label says 'Jammy and smooth which it is. Enjoy🍷

So you’ll get to sample it before we probably will.
Shiraz was the last red we drank, rather nice, I’m getting used to sitting in the garden with a glass of wine now:+1: save the ale for evening, inevitable I fall asleep after it.

Nice to know Andrew! Staff lady in Asda said it’s called Jam Shed as it tastes jammy! not sure how true that is  I think I’ve mentioned before but one of my lads was in Melbourne, where it’s produced (or at least bottled) that area is known as the Jam Factory

Cheers Mick, well I’ll definitely give it a go tonight :wine_glass::wine_glass: :joy:
After a hard day of not doing a great deal Mick, I too tend to nod off after quaffing my tipple of the day! Then I can’t sleep when I do go to bed! :joy:

With all this discussion around favourite wines (and beers) we sound like a club of alcoholics! :joy::joy: just nipped out to the garden bar to get a pic of opening times, no proof that I imbibe outside of these hours :eyes:

Also, I am so easily confused these days, I totally got the wine wrong in an earlier post,:astonished:
It’s actually this Malbec and not the Shiraz I mentioned

Just for clarity, the bar rules were laid out by Mrs B who definitely makes the grade as a bar police lady! Temperance is her middle name, unless she gets involved in an occasional bottle of Moscato, at which point anything goes! (Well, almost :joy:)

What is your favourite wine?

Supercharger.

Oh, sorry, I miss read the question

Seriously though I know nothing about wine, I just know what I like. My wife always wants to be trying something new so we use a tried and tested approach now - £6 to £10 buying whatever happens to have the biggest discount on the day :flushed: Seems to work out well for us most of the time to be fair!

Just looking at that snap of the Malbec? I actually like the picture, with the blurry background, it’s just like when you’ve consumed the contents of the bottle? Very realistic :joy::joy:

Well I’ll say it anyway Barrie, I think you’ll like the Jam Shed, noticed yours isn’t Australian now. Just sampled ours with a pasta meal, very nice, sweet and very warming.

The only Malbec wines I’ve seen/tasted have been from Argentina, although it’s no doubt grown/produced elsewhere, and to be honest it’s not one of my favourite grape varieties.

Well, I’ve done half a bottle of the Malbec and so far, it’s really nice :+1: :joy: an hour yet to kick off so need to meter my intake! Croatia & Czech Republic a draw which is good for us :+1: going forward!

Go on! Get stuck in! The enjoyability of wine (and booze in general) increases in direct proportion to the quantity consumed!

Favourite wine???…….Now there’s a question.

Money no object, then it would be a Gevrey Chambertin. Fantastic mid-bodied red, that tastes even better when someone else pays :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:.

On a more affordable budget, then it would be a Barolo. A wonderful smooth medium-to-full bodied red, with deep spicy flavours.

Unfortunately, my daily budget doesn’t normally stretch to either of the above, so it’s more modest pickings.

A good Cabernet Sauvignon is always a go-to option, but more recently I have been swayed by the Apothic. A lovely Zinfandel from the US, which is velvety and full of vanilla and deep red fruits. The brand, much to my delight, have now added a Cabernet Sauvignon version, which is again super smooth, but perhaps not as rounded as the Zinfandel.

Lastly there’s 19 crimes. They do a few versions now, including a coffee infused version, which is disgusting :face_vomiting:. The original, which is a blend has beautiful peppery, full bodied flavour, which is smooth on the palate. Occasionally on offer at £7.50, but normally nearer £9, it’s a great buy. Thoroughly recommended and tonight’s tipple.

COME ON ENGLAND!!!

My neighbours and good friends gave me a bottle of 19 Crimes “The Uprising” today… Now I’m not normally a fan of reds, but this one right now is going down a bit too well…! so please allow me some space for my replies on MX-5OC this evening…!
