Can someone please explain all the suffixes regarding the MX5 models as I cannot understand which model I actually own?
As far as I was concerned my car is a Mk3.
But is it!!
Whats the difference and how do you identify the difference between a Mk3 and a Mk3.5?
My cars log book states the model is a MX5 I SE
1798cc and is registered 03 09 2009.

I would provide a picture to be sure. Mine was a 2009 but it was a MK3 (NC1) not an Mk3.5 (NC2). You can tell from the shape of the front fog light surround which one it is.
I haven’t heard of an NC1 registered on a 59-plate. So my educated guess is that you have an NC2 facelift.
You may also see your 1.8 emits 167g of CO2 per km, rather than 174g on the NC1. Clearly they tweaked the mapping slightly. You should see this figure in the details on your V5 document.
Here’s a side-by-side comparison image to help. As said already, the foglight design is markedly different. As is the headlight design and centre bumper design and air intake.
