Hi I have a 2010 NC and am looking to replace the tyres. What tyres would you guys recommend for just normal road use
I’ll be looking for new set in a few weeks to replace the ageing Continentals. The consensus of opinion on here is Kumho Ecstas which I’ll be going for.
Yup Kumho Ecsta KU39 is highly rated. Probably what I’ll go for when mine need changing. Otherwise it might be Michelin Pilot Sports which I had on the Boxster & were fantastic.
Avon ZV5’s working well on my 2007 NC. Very acceptable noise levels, predictable wet and dry grip and plenty of tread left after 20,000 miles.
Toyo T1R’s on our daily driver and very happy with them.
Kumho Ecstas on my NC…
I have Michelin Primacy 3’s. Not the pilot sports that also come recommended from some other users. I would also recommend the Primacy 3’s. Very good grip and noise levels. I can’t vouch for longevity as I’ve only done about 1500 miles on them.
I’ve used T1R’s for a couple of years - do the job well enough in warm weather, wet or dry. But they don’t like being rotated front-back, and they don’t like cold weather. So now I have 2 with 4mm of tread, one of which has a nail in it, and two with 5+mm of tread! (Or rather, 2 TiR with 5mm of tread and 2 Uniroyal RS3. Haven’t had the RS3 long (about 3 days!), but others seem to like them, tread feels more supple than the T1R, almost as supple as my Winter tyre tread so hopefully they’ll be OK in cold weather. Others on this forum have the RS3.
Have tried in the past Goodyear GSD3 - as a result I no longer buy Goodyear tyres. Original Yokohamas seemed OK but didn’t like the colder weather much either. You can get them at a good price these days if you shop around. This is 6 years/80k of driving. By “didn’t like the colder weather” I mean the steering got a bit unsteady/tramliny/unpredictable on normal uneven A and B road surfaces.
For Winter I have Nokian WRG2 but when it gets warmer they don’t grip as well although the steering stays steady and predictable.
No personal experience of any other Summer tyre.
Christ another tyre thread!!

Is Christ after tyres too?
Sorry guys, I find blasphemy very offensive!
Are we up to Charlie Hebdo levels or not?

Certainly not! No threats or demands made! PM sent.

Some scholars insist that Jesus drove a Honda but didn’t like to talk about it. As proof, they cite a verse in St. John’s gospel where Christ tells the crowd, “For I did not speak of my own Accord…”
