can anyone recommend 4 wheel alignment in South Wales area(i’m in Port Talbot,but willing to travel within reasonable distance) thanks

Hi, I’m in Swansea and as far as I know, there are no 4 wheel alignment specialists near us, however, if you use this website, http://www.alignmycar.co.uk/

I think you’ll find you will have to travel to Aberdare or Barry for the closest ones. If you do find somewhere, be sure to let us know.

ello my mucker you ok,yes there is someone at briton ferry( A+S tyres)they have only just started doing it,and i have also been told that Kwik fit at Neath branch are doing it as well,but i would prefer recommendations, dont know about you, regards (still looking by the way) Gwyn

I used A&S Tyres Swansea branch when I had my Corolla T-Sport. They replaced a few tyres and told me my tracking was out and asked if I wanted it sorted for £15. Stupidly I agreed. When  they finished I asked how far out it was and the mechanic just held up thumb & forefinger and said “About that much out”. Totally meaningless! Didn’t specify what measurement was out. Also, when I sold that car it was bought by a Toyota mechanic who checked it on a diagnostic computer and found a fault logged for a steering sensor - apparently because that car has ESP & TRC any adjustments done to the steering/geometry need to be done properly so that the ECU “knows about it” - otherwise it flags the sensors as being faulty. So - I’m not keen on them now! In fact, I’m never getting alignment done at a general tyre place again!

Anyway. I had my alignment done at http://www.aviaspeedshop.co.uk in Bridgend. They did a great job and used to run a mk1 race car so know their way around MX5s. They set mine up with a “Fast Road” setup, and also set my coilovers to a decent (and level) height.
