wheel balancing help

I am trying to find a place to balance my bolt on wire wheels.   the centre bore of the wheel is smaller than a standard wheel and cannot fit over the balancing shaft on a balancing machine .

Have tried a couple of locals to my area (West london) like kwik fit etc Inc halfords but don’t fit on their machine.   anyone know where I might be able to get this balanced ?

Do a google search ‘on car wheel balancing’ damn expensive.
Hope someone can give you a cheaper solution.

Somewhere that is able to balance PSA Peugeot/Citroen wheels without a centre bore may be able to help. Can’t suggest anywhere specific though, unfortunately.

Phil

A call to Wheels in Motion in Chesham might help; either they could do it, or might know someone close to you.

I did and OUCH !

Thanks for that Phil, will do some googling

The traditional, old fashioned way of balancing wheels, rather than spinning them up on a computerised machine, was to lie them horizontally on a balancing device with a “bullseye” spirit level in the middle. An old established classic car place might therefore be of help.

I have another car with 3.5J x 16" wheels which uses crossply tyres. Longstone Tyres used their old fashioned machine on them. Not much use to you, as they are in Bawtry, South Yorks, but there are similar suppliers of tyres for older cars further south.

“North Hants Tyres” for example, in Aldershot.

The device I mean is like this one:
