Wheel Cleaning Brush

My EZ Detail brush wire finally gave up, what else would you recommend for cleaning alloys?

I always use this type, the brush lasts for a very long time, I last purchase 2, at one of our rallys 2 years ago…

I use this one, use on both of my cars at least once a week, so far the brush has lasted nearly 3 years.

+1 for this brush, exactly what I use… just the job for getting to the inside face of the wheel and the bristles are short enough that it doesn’t produce too much splashing of dirt and wet brake dust when used.

I would be concerned that the metal core brushes would scratch the alloys. Have used wheel woolies for many years. Made from durable plastic shaft and soft bristles they are perfect for safe cleaning.

Thanks folks a good set of options there.

I just use one of these to agitate the wheel cleaner:

But for stubborn stuff on the front wheels, I use this:

Being bone idle, I prefer option B !

+1

Asda sell one for £4. It still has a wire core which worries me a bit but it has soft wooly (eel like) strand thingys on one side with a sponge on the back. Works for me and cheap enough too. Can’t find a link to it but they hide them in the car cleaning section.

Some of the brushes shown here I wouldnt touch

Wheel Woolies!! the BEST…Not cheap but very robust and totally safe:

I’ve used a few of these brushes including those cheapos from Asda. Come to the conclusion it’s much easier with a sponge, £1 x 3  from Asda cut in half fits in and around the wheel spokes with you favourite wheel cleaner soaked into it.

Just get another EZ brush. I rate them as the best there is. Mine is getting a bit worse for wear, and I’ll be getting another that’s for sure.

i have tried most types of brush, and to be honest, it all depends on the type of wheel you are cleaning. I have tried the wheel woolies, and for certain types of wheel they are good. But for my current wheels (BBS’s) none of the woolies are the correct size.

So, get yourself a good detailing brush to do the wheel faces, and an EZ wheel brush for getting into the back of the wheel.

I use a sponge for general wheel washing and a SOFT toothbrush for the nooks and crannies of the spokes.
