- My model of MX-5 is: ND 2021
- I’m based near: __Barrow in Furness
- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __wheel nut torque
I’m going to remove the BBS alloys on my GT Sport tech to ceramic coat them and I can’t find details of wheel nut torque. Any help would be greatly appreciated. John
Hi John.
According to the Owner’s Reference Guide (Handbook) that you should get with the car, in section 9-6 it’s as follows:-
108-147 Nm or 12-14 fgf.m or 80-108 ft.lbf

Hi John
The range in the hand book is too wide to be useful. I had oz wheels fitted to my 30th anniversary and i checked with two Mazda dealerships and the recommended torque setting they both gave me was 120Nm which worked fine.

Thanks for that. I’ve been messing with cars for over 50 years and I’m very surprised to see such a wide tolerance, I suppose in the middle will be about right😊
Thanks. I was guessing that it would be about mid tolerance, I don’t think that I’d be happy cranking it up to the higher setting😊
Hi John.
Yes, I agree, it is really too wide! I would’ve said about 120Nm and our friend’s post confirms that!
