I intend to get my NC wheels repainted in another colour. Any recommendations for a firm in North West London or South Herts?
It will be better to have them Powdercoated
IMO, the best Wheel Refurbers in the country is ‘The Wheel Specialists’
They will be better than new once done!
I am booked in with TWS next month having seen a friends 6 series done. superb job. I opted for the drive in same day turn around
There is no doubt an issue with poorly applied powdercoat being positively catastrophic for wheel strength, and that there are well founded fears that powder applied to the mating faces can cause clamping problems. But even durability maybe is not all that. These wheels were powdercoated in 2009
The coating seems to chip in a way paint doesn’t, and also lifts in places. Most OEM wheels are powdercoated these days, but still go bubbly with corrosion.
A thread with a “profession” wheel restorer wondering why a customer’s powder coated wheels are flaking:

“Undercuring” is mentioned. So if you overcure, you can ruin the wheel’s strength, if you underdo it, you end up with a less than durable finish.
Actually I rarely have seen many OEM manufacturers powdercoat as it is more expensive to do and offer less colour ability which on some cars can be quite constraining. Furthermore, it also for some comes down to how eco points can they score.
