When should I change my na brake disks

I have a 96 na, and was wondering when I should change the disks. There is a lip around the edge on both the front and rear, and I don’t know if they have ever been changed. And if they need to be, I can’t find any OE replacements. Any help would be great!
Thanks

Thanks so much, don’t know why I couldn’t find any OE disks, that so helpful. I want to keep the car as stock as possible, so thats great.
Thanks so much for your help, I will get to wrenching.

Your post is a good example of why the idea of an MOT every two years was dropped. The MOT saves more lives than any other traffic legislation IMHO.
You can’t prove a negative of course but I’d bet the house on that being the case….

“Its a MOT fail if the discs are down to 3mm. But most don’t get it to this state.”

They would be a bit floppy :winking_face_with_tongue:

Just to clear up any confusion, here are the limits as prescribed on the gov.uk website for the MOT test.

Apparently if the pad is below 3mm it will be a minor fail so will still pass mot.

To check this with any degree of accuracy get one of these it will not break the bank.
