Could anyone please tell me where exactly the sill drain holes are on the underside of an NC? And where do they lead to? Is it these holes on the photo?
Not sure , I think only plugs in sills are as in pic ?
But as they have a bung in I don’t think they are actually classed as drains ?
I just love the underside view of an NC or ND; really looks like a little racing car!
The sill drains are at the jacking point front and rear. The two raised pieces you see on the sill lip seam either side of the jacking point are the drain point for the sill. A poke out up the rear of the seam with a piece of cable tie will keep them clear. These are less visible on the NC because of the plastic sill covers, get on your hands and knees for a look see
No, they are on the sill seam as indicated above. They are very narrow slits in the seam. Have you found the the jacking points?
I have only had the car a few weeks so don’t know where the jacking points are, and can’t see very clearly from lying on the floor, I am trying to look on photos to understand! Do you have to remove something to see them?
PaleRider can’t make it any clearer.
It’s clear to you because you know the car very well! I am looking around the jacking point and I can’t see any narrow slits, just the bungs that run down the side?
Sorry I am still struggling! Is it the 2 tiny holes on the left edge of this photo? I know this bit needs sorting out.
Yes! Well done, you found them! Now ram a screwdriver into them to make sure they’re clear!
Ah great thanks. Do you know what the other hole in the right of the photo is for? Presumably that lets water in underneath
It drains that little triangular cavity. But splash water can creep in there as well.
Here are those same sill drains showing Dinitrol has been applied.
You need to get a grinder / buffer onto said sills to clean the rust up my friend.
Yes I know that is coming off and epoxy mastic going on. I was asking where the drains are because it’s getting the underneath sorted this weekend and I didn’t want the drains to get blocked in the process, or any water to end up inside the car when he is washing it via chassis holes. However isn’t that exactly where the jacking point is? Will need some planning on how to sort that area if the wheels are off.
Those holes circled in yellow are just holes that are there from manufacture. Presumably to aide air circulation around those box sections.
