Where are you taking your MX-5 in 2026?

We are going in June, enjoy :+1:t2:

I have driven in most countries in Europe and several cities in Italy. The only time I ever became freaked out was after 2 weeks touring the Amalfi coast returning to Naples. The madness got to me in the end. Rome is bad enough but Neapolitans are on another level of crazy.

After an epic 3000 mile Alps trip this year I don’t have so much planned for 2026, but have just bought a ticket for the Spa 12h in April. Travelling down in a little group with a supercharged Elise and a Cayman GTS, and hoping to have time to explore the Ardennes a bit before the race.

My daughter wants to do some of the NC500 and Skye in June, which might also happen if a few other things align.

We stayed on Lake Garda. Beautiful.

We’ve done quite a bit of Europe, but in our campervan, agree with Naples having the craziest drivers, I seem to remember lots of teenagers playing chicken with oncoming traffic on the back wheel of their scooters.

I’m taking my ND RF Launch Edition to Southern Austria in May/June and touring over to Slovenia through the Loibl Pass via Klagenfurt, Bodental, and the lake Woertersee. My wife passed away a few years ago and she was from there, so I’m finally going to let her go and fly free high up in the Julian Alps. The car’s just returned from the MX-Restorers in Pevensey with an underseal and ultimate service so raring to go, just after my retirement in April! It’s such a lovely car in every way, and those Recarro seats the best I’ve ever had, although an old Alfasud Sprint Veloce came close! Does anyone recognise the car? It came from the Preston are , one previous owner other than the dealer.

Honeymooned at Riva, took the kids back 12 years later, hired a speed boat to show off to them and got chased by the river police.

Happy days.

Would love to drive to the Tirol…… but it’s logistically difficult from Northern Ireland. We ski in the Tirol, have done so for many many years and we love being there, but crossing the Irish Sea either to Scotland or England and then crossing to France or Holland is longwinded…..

This explains why we have been crossing to Spain from Ireland , and then driving on to Portugal…..which we also love. I know it’s a 27 hour sea crossing, but it’s only one body of water- but we do want to do it sometime- head for the “Romantic Road” and aim for Munich and then into Austria and maybe on to Italy.

We have journeyed from Westendorf to Milan and back via the Brenner Pass, but only in a hire car- actually it was an Opel 9 seat mini-bus….good for keeping safe on Italian autostradas.

I’ve just come back from Cornwall after visiting friends for a long weekend. First long trip, over 600 miles, 2 days of good weather plus a return journey of it chucking it down the whole of the M5 for 4 hours. Did have the odd twinge requiring a comfort break / stretch quite often as its not the biggest car I own but what an amazing vehicle. Even in severe pouring rain at ‘a good pace’ the car was so planted (UniRoyal Rain Sports + BBR suspension kit). Now just have to fit that Cobalt Muffler I picked up just south of Bristol

What an impre

Welcome to the club Paul. I’ve always been amazed at how comfortable my NC has been over long distances. It’s just such a capable, comfortable and enjoyable car to drive!

I’d like to do a trip around the NC500 in the summer. It will require some planning first.

We did the NC500 in Sept, we really enjoyed it top down all the way apart from the last morning when an Atlantic storm blew in, we went with Scenic Car Tours.
