You’ve probably found it by now but the FAQ’s section says it’s code 22A.
Not all cars come with a sticker - mine for one. And it’s not in the list either. However you can go to auto paint suppliers web sites and put in your details and they invariably have the answer.
Hmm, I still cannot seem to find the colour code. There does not seem to be any sticker on any door post that I can see (except for the tyre pressures). And the plate in the engine bay does not seem to contain any code either, or does it?
Well, I Did have a look (Before the sandwhich on Friday   ) and could not find any mention of the colour in the owners manual.
However, I did stumble on the colour being handwritten down by the original seller for the first service in the Service Book. Just the colour mind you (Supreme Blue) and not the code but I’ll have to take them for their word on that.
The code, taken from the FAQ, would then be 22A.
Strange that it is so hard to find the colour code on the car itself though
If you search for previous threads on this subject (Mk2.5 paint codes), most owners have found a simple call to their local Mazda dealer, armed with the VIN, would elucidate the correct code.
Since it’s impossible to match exact colours from different sources with all the possible variations (lighting, cameras, re-production, browsers, computers etc…) it is at least helpful to know that there were supposedly only two dark blue colours available on my car which minimses the choices a bit. So it Could be a “Supreme Blue” (obviously most likely) or perhaps a “Strato blue”. The pictures look almost the same Â
Is the Strato Blue a bit more purple, or is there just a purple elephant standing next to the camera which reflects the wrong kind of light?
