Where to buy MX-5 Mk3 - 2008 NC Sport BackBox

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __ MK3 NC
  2. I’m based near: __ Kent
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __
So, I have recently purchased a MX-5 and I’m in the process of doing it up. I’ve seen a few videos regarding back boxes and they sound pretty awesome. I’ve taken a fancy to the Greddy Ti-C and some of the Cobra back boxes. I would love to know where you get these from and your personal experiences and/or recommendations!
    Thank you kindly!

I have a BBR de-cat manifold and a Cobalt back box. Love it!

The back box was first, which definitely improved the sound and experience over the standard car. A much fuller and deeper sound, with a bit of burbling for extra spice. Latterly I changed the manifold, as I wanted more. Some would now consider it too loud, but for me, it’s just more smiles per miles.

I have a cobra race. Fully ran in. It’s enough for me. Starting to get a few pops

This was a made up back box and on the car when I bought it. Pretty useless info as I don’t know where it was from, sorry, I love the tone.
The rattling sound is definitely not on my car, sort of noise bouncing around off the hedge I’m right next to.

Oh nice one, what was it like to fit?

if you are going to leave the catalysts and the stock manifold any aftermarket sport back box will make it sound fruitier.

If you change the manifold to a better (sportier one) and while you are at it have high flow catalysts and larger OD piping you may want to think what back box you need…

I love my combo - but its not cheap… (BBR manifold with cats, mid pipe and GT back box btw)

I paid a garage to fit coilovers and exhaust and geo set up. i paid £338 in total. The box removed was cut and smoothed and new clamp on. I would say 30-45mins max
