Where to find an engine?

  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Where to look for a replacement engine

I bought a Mk2, registered in 2000. It currently has a 1.8l bp4w, but it seems as though at least one big end bearing has gone. and there seems to have been a lot of heat in cylinder 4. I’m not knowledgeable enough to rebuild it, but I also have absolutely no idea where I should be looking for a replacement engine.

Can anyone point me in a helpful direction? Thank you in advance

You should try Sportscars and Spares | eBay Stores

They’re normally under the bonnet but can be in the boot or where the rear seats would be.

Sportscars and spares is a good shout, they’ve always been really helpful and reasonably priced in my experience, the sort of company that will respond to your queries and help you through some bits you might not understand.
