Hi,
I’ve had my car for sale here and on Pistonheads for a few weeks now but am getting little interest in it. Does any one have any recommendations for other sites to use or tips for advertising?
Have you put an advert here as well?
Also the Facebook MX-5 groups if you’re a member and Facebook Marketplace are worthwhile from a reach perspective, even if the latter can be a little annoying sometimes! I’d also advertise on eBay Motors.
Latterly AutoTrader, which is quite expensive these days but probably gets the most views.
From an advertising tips perspective, a well laid out descriptive advert with a range of useful, well shot photos.
Best of luck with it,
Steve.
Autotrader prices aren’t that bad, if I’m reading them correctly? Probably generates the most views, like you mentioned, and £45.95 for advertising until it’s sold don’t seem too bad at all. Of course I don’t know what the former price was. Compare that to say ebay fees, webuyfees or similar.
If I was getting £thousands for a car, I probably woudn’t mind having to spend £46 to advertise it.
I recently sold my mk1 (with lots of modifications) through a classified ad on carandclassic.com. Free advert too.
Swapped our family car around three years ago. Paid for an Autotrader ad and had very little interest over the first week. Cut and pasted all photos and details into a free Facebook Marketplace ad and sold within a couple of days. Also had several other very interested people to tell it had gone.
Try Facebook first, it’s free so nothing to lose.
I bought my NB off Gumtree. Local owner (from new), local service history. It’s free to advertise.
Ebay?
Motorway is a very good way and with a good price too.
It is also free as the buyer pays the commission.
