I enjoyed the MX-5 racing at Oulton Park Sunday Aug 9. The Mk3’s all 27 of them put on a magnificent display battling for the Miata Trophy, some close, very close racing!
But not a single MK 4 in this event?
Too fragile, less competitive, too expensive to repair minor bumps?
The Miata Trophy UK is open to both MK3 & MK4.
Racing the ND?
What version of transmission are we one now

I don’t know the answer, but the MZR/Duratec engine is cheap and tuneable. It might have something to do with that.
Also cheaper to buy a MK3 as a basis for a race car.

A lot of the mk4’s changed hands after covid and grids depleted hence why I’m in a Skoda
