Which cam belt kit?

Just realised it’s 8 years since I last replaced the cam belt and water pump on my 94 mk1 so it’s time again.
I’d likecto do a one stop shop so which kit would people recommend? Cam belt, tensioner, water pump, gaskets and everything else I need in one package.
Thanks
D

Personally, I would always recommend GATES for quality and reliability.
Used them in various cars over the years and never an issue.
Sure they would do a kit for yours.

GMB pumps are very good , with gates idler, tensioner ,spring and belt.
But i would also recommend changing the CAS, cam ,crank and rocker seals at the same time.

Autolink do a Gates 3 part kit for £50, just add the other parts you’ll need from their shop to the list re MM recommendation. Use genuine Mazda gaskets re cam cover gaskets etc…:+1:

Just been doing a bit more research and came across this

Any thoughts?
Thanks

I’d be asking if it were a genuine Mazda cam cover gasket included. Apart from that it all looks ok,not sure how it fairs price wise with other suppliers.

Deluxe hey, thats sounds special enough to spend extra money that is not needed to be.

As my comment (and others) above, just get the Gates kits.
Find the kit number and search the good old internet for a good company to provide it.
MM is your man he does this for a living. :+1:

“ Find the kit number “

So, any idea what the kit number is?
I’ve searched with google and it comes back with too many options and certainly no kit numbers. Most seem to be for the cam belt components and don’t include the water pump stuff and cam cover gasket.
I’ve tried the Gates website but failed there as well.
As I said in my original post I would like to buy a kit with everything I need rather than pick and mix then find something is missing when the car’s in bits.

Thanks again

Mx5 parts list one £69.95.

Yes that was my first port of call then people started saying “ is it a Gates belt, who makes the water pump, is it a Mazda original cam cover gasket ect? “
I emailed MX5 Parts asking these questions but got no reply so no further forwards.
I also emailed MX5Bitz asking the same questions about their kits but got no reply again.

To be honest, as I do such a low mileage I’m beginning to think I’m over thinking this and worrying unnecessarily.
5000 miles since the last change 8 years ago.
Just as an aside, when I replaced the CAS O ring last year I fitted a new Mazda cam cover gasket. Could I reuse it do you think?

Thanks for the reply.
I’m definitely going to change it just think I might be overthinking what parts to use.
I couldn’t make sense of the Gates website but probably me just being thick.
It’s a 1.8 1994 Eunos import by the way.
Thanks again.
