Which grease for clutch slave Cylinder

Hi

i am replacing my clutch slave cylinder.  The instructions say when refitting I need to apply some Melling point grease to the clutch fork rod.

i have  comma general purpose grease from halfords that says lithium based grease with good temperature tolerance .  I also have copper grease.

will one of these do or do I need to down tools and go and buy something else.  Halfords also sold a comma grease for cv joints

any held appreciated

cheers

If it were me I’d use what you have, a general purpose grease.

It does not get hot where rod meets fork so copper grease is perfectly good or and other grease.Clean off any old grease /residue and blob smear where rod seats in to fork.Otherwise it will squeak every time you press the clutch

Thanks guys.
It took me all day but I’ve don’t it.
One hell of a sqeek now though!!
Hope it goes or not sure what I’ll do as I put plenty of grease in it.

Copperslip is an antisieze agent, it is not a lubricant and the manufacturers advise this.

Therefore the multipurpose grease is the one to use as it is a lubricant.

CV grease is the same as multipurpose grease but has moly added, while that would do the job. no nead to buy it as you already have mulripurpose grease.
