Just wondered if a standard ride height MX5 will reverse up onto the usual ramps ok or do they need the ramp extensions or longer less inclined ramps.
Haven’t had mine on ramps since I lowered the suspension but as I recall even before then I had to use two planks of wood to extend my ramps in order to clear the front or rear bumper/valance.
Probably sounds daft but I lift each side in stages with the jack and slide the ramps in a bit at a time.
My Mk3 has been lowered 30mm and I can reverse on to standard ramps no problems. I need to place a couple of pieces of wood before the ramps to help raise the car slightly when driving up, this prevents the lower front part of the car from scraping on the ramps.
I’ve never tried to reverse on to ramps.
I use ramp extenders, and drive on forwards.
! I am a bit confused, can you explain how this works please?
I jack back of car on diff, then put standard ramps under wheels, front wheels wedged before jacking rear
^^^ Isn’t that defeating the object of having ramps?
Object to get back of car up safe
not happy reversing RWD low car up ramps
I guess you have your answer already.
I have a pair of ramps i’ve had almost 40 years (wow, really that long).
I can get both the front and rear of my Mk3 up without and issues.
About the same here. I inspected them last year and then painted them, still solid and doing the job.
I need a bit of help in the way of two short planks of wood to help clear the front air dam on to the ramps, only a couple of inches in it.
Reversing up a ramp is easier as you can hang out of the door and see your back wheel.
We carry these in stock.

Although, I’ve not tried an MX5 on this particular set.
