i’m trying to get one of the front brake callipers & brackets off.
why do the 14mm & 17mm pins just go round & round & not come out?
videos i’ve seen & book entry that refers to it just show the pins being removed like normal bolts.
is it something to do with the rubber doodads on each hole for both pins?
when i did the other front calliper / bracket previously, the 17mm wasn’t a problem. but the 14mm took a really long time.
the one i’m doing at the moment, the pins come out about 1-2cm. but then that’s it.
they were impossible to get out.
(the 14mm bolts holding it to the disk were a piece of cake)

For the sliding pins, the bolts with the rubber covers, you need to get a spanner in the back of the bolt to stop it spinning.
Once the bolt is unthreaded, you can pull it out of the rubber cover but be careful to hold the rubber cover against the caliper to stop it coming away from the caliper with the bolt. It’s difficult to get the rubber reseated into the caliper.
The caliper bracket bolts just unscrew but are tight.

Hi, once definitely unscrewed, I place a small screwdriver behind the bolt head & gently tap them out with a hammer
