It’s like paying for a superb glass of Merlot then stirring 5 sugars into it.
Disability?
The M2-1031 was an attempt by Mazda to develop a wheelchair accessible MX5. There is very little information on it
Because my left leg was crushed at work so I am limited to an auto. I still drive a mx5 I enjoy driving the car. yep it’s not a manual yep it might be a tad slower and yep you have to put up with twats that look down on the auto and think the mx5 auto is a lesser car and should be banned. Well all I can say I hope you don’t end up like me but if you did I bet you wouldn’t put your nose up at an auto if it’s the last thing you could drive.
And if your reply would still be I still wouldn’t drive one you would then qualify for prat of the year.
It still a mx5 and a convertible it still goes around corner brilliantly.
Rant over.
Not the best simile, given that merlot is the chardonnay of red wines
I twisted my left knee at work yesterday and drove home in the NA, somewhat painfully. It’s a bit sore today. As I grow older, so does the appeal of an autobox in an MX-5.
Last year we changed our “main” car to an auto after 40+ years of manual boxes to an auto, and I must admit I would never buy a manual gearbox (main) car again. Just don’t really see the point these days, particularly with modern autos and when you have adaptive cruise control as well.
However, for our “weekend” car (ND), I prefer the manual.
I thought that sort of daft prejudice about autos had died out when The Professionals were still on TV. It may be news to OP that the only hypercar available with a manual is the GM T50 / T33 and very few sports cars have manuals - because(shock horror ) people prefer autos (especially DCT with paddle shifts)and they are easy to use and faster.
I only have a six speed manual in my MX5 because I’m an old fart who knows how to heel and toe .
With the necessity to lower emissions and ultimately zero carbon emissions all vehicles will be automatic.
I had a euros v spec auto and found it dangerous when pulling out of junctions due to lack of control, for example you can’t feather the clutch. There are tons of category damaged automatic hybrid cars for sale which highlights their safety issues IMO.
Thank goodness that fully electric cars, being only automatic, have an electric brake and automatically slows down the vehicle on release of the accelerator.
That does not make sense, it’s an auto, it sorts it all out for you, that’s why they call it ‘auto’!!!
So do I. I do it all the time. It’s yet something else lacking in the driving experience of an auto sports car (an oxymoron if ever there was one).
So a 911 with pdk not a sports car? I bet Porsche would argue that point.
I see you have created a new post with the same theme as you have ‘promoted’ in the past. Why?
It is not good to ridicule and belittle others that do not have the same view as yourself. Unfortunately it taints any other ‘good’ posts that you may make so is unfortunately self defeating.
