Sorry that my second post is one asking questions [:^)]
My car (Mk 2, 2000, 1.6) has a strange starting problem:
It always starts from cold, no problem what so ever, same if its run, stopped for less than 5mins and started again
But, if you leave it any longer, sometimes it’ll refuse to start for the 1st few times, and then it’ll start, but initially catching on 3cylinders for about 2 seconds. After that its fine!
Another time it refused to start at all until I’d played with the HT leads
I’ve changed the leads and the plugs, but the plugs are just cheapo ones from a Motorfactor because I didnt have time to get some decent ones, but it still happens…it’s almost as if the engines flooding itself
Sounds like classic coil pack failure symptoms to me. They are not cheap though.
Not what I wanted to hear, but the cars under warranty for another 9 months so i’ll have to get it looked at!
