My MX-5 RT 2019 needs a new window regulator as cable is frayed. Any recommendations for who I can get to fix this part. I’m in north Cheshire.
Join the club! It can be a DIY fix with a new regulator, but if you want a garage to sort, ring Oakmere in Northwich.

. Any idea what I should be paying to get this fixed. Northwich is a bit far to drive as scared window will drop and smash. Not sure I can do this myself
. Any manual guides around. Any help accepted as money is tight. Not working and have had knee replacement ![]()
Join the club of those of us that have had these failed… it’s a common fault.
Regulator part is £60 ish. Think dealer price including labour will be £200 approx but prices will vary. Ring the dealer to get an idea.
Have a look here POWER WINDOW REGULATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION | 2016 ND Shop Manual then you can assess if you can do it or not.

I managed to repair the regulator of my NB myself. I bought the car, which had been off the road for a couple of years and freshly MOT’d by the previous owner. As we drove it home my wife lowered the passenger window, which promptly jammed open. The cable was completly rusted. I bought a bicycle brake cable and modified it to fit. I used the brass insert from an electrical “chocolate block” connector to fix the end of the inner so I could adjust the length. Cost me just £3.
Wow. So clever. Wish I could do that x
