A search reveals that there aren’t any posts on the forum so far about Mazda dealers Windsors Of Wallasey, so I thought I’d post a few words …
I took my mk2 there yesterday to get the gearbox oil and diff oil changed (most servicey things I can do myself, but I felt that those jobs were a little beyond the reach of a mechanical novice like myself ), and the service I received was great.
I’d booked it in earlier in the week, after it turned out that my local garage in town weren’t interested in doing the job (!). Mark the service manager was honest enough to point out that there was another Mazda dealer closer to me (Mitchells in Cheshire Oaks) - indeed, I drove almost past their forecourt on my way up the M53, but given that Windsors came in at over £40 cheaper for the same job it was worth the extra few miles up the Wirral.
The car was in the workshop a bit longer than anticipated (I guess they must’ve been quite busy), but when I got back to the showroom Mark’s colleague made me a brew (in a proper mug, none of this vending machine rubbish in tiny plastic cups that most motor dealers seem to favour) and I sat and read my paper for half an hour while I waited. The oils had turned out a bit dearer than Mark had anticipated when he gave me the price, so he massaged the labour costs a bit to keep the price the same as he quoted. And I was even offered the unused oil from the bottle (about a litre of diff oil) to take away with me - something that I’ve never been offered at a main dealer for any marque before.
Anyway, I reckon it was well worth doing (regardless of the fact that the service schedule said it needed doing!) - I don’t know whether it’s partly my imagination but the car definitely seems to run quite a bit quieter and smoother now.
Well done, chaps. Highly recommended.
