Does anyone use them? Were they any good in the snow? I have a set of wheels for winter but they have GSD2 summer tyres on them [:^)]
I have M+S marked winter tyres on my 5 right now. I bought them new for about 30 quid a corner. Way better in snow than normal tyres (better than both my sticky track tyres and normal treaded Bridgestones) and also surprisingly good on wet roads too. I’d only ever used old second hand M+S tyres before and found them very low on grip in the wet, but my new ones are fantastic - easily as grippy in the wet as my sticky summer tyres.
No downsides apart from the cost - they are grippy, quiet, ride is good (or at least no more awful than normal) and they are a real confidence boost. Definitely a worthwhile investment if you drive all winter and are worried about crashing in slippery conditions. Mine are Falken somethings - search on mytyres.com for winter tyres.
To be honest I bought them expecting them to be rubbish, but I’ve been converted.
Wish I’d had a set of M+S tyres on last night.
Got caught out in the snow & had to crawl all the way home from Huntingdon at 20 mph and still ended up tail sliding most of the way.
It was fun though [<:o)]
Eagle F-1’s might be great in the dry and OK in the wet, but they suck the big one in the snow hehe
