Hi all, I’m getting a bit tired of the carbon trim kit in the 5 and fancied a wood trim as may be more in keeping with a 91 car. Has anyone bought one of these kits, and if so are they any good??
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have 2 spare wood trim vent rings if you want them? free to you
I would be interested in your carbon fibre trim for centre panel though!
Hi Chris,
i bought this a couple of years ago direct from Germany and its still as fresh looking as it was when it came out the wrapper.
I added the wooden steering wheel (moss) to compliment the retro look.
I paid around £100 for the set (it has door inserts and a strip that goes along the top of the glovebox too) so the eBay one sounds a little cheap.
MX5Parts do the same one that I got direct, not sure on the price, but I think you may find it is the quality your paying the extra for, lots of people at the Spring Rally thought mine was real wood!
If you do buy make sure you wipe the dash down well with white spirit / petrol to remove any polish etc, the vinyl needs a good surface to adhere to.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes if you do buy.
Jon
Looks very good Jon, just one comment, you are better using something like Meths to clean down before applying the stickey stuff. Petrol leaves behind a slight oily residue
Previous owner fitted a similar set to mine.
There is a really thin bit that runs just above the radio, which I nicked and stretched a little when I took the radio out.
Apart from that I quite like it!
Oh yeah, really like the look of the wood, forget the ebay one!! Love the steering wheel too, I’m waiting for the original to be found from the previous owner!!
Can you remember where you bought the kit?? If not its onto mx5 parts again!!
Your absolutely right Geoff, I just used what I had happened to have in the garage at the time!
Chris, I’ve had a look in my favourites but fear the company link was on the old pooter. If I remember right I only saved about £10 after postage and had to wait a while for delivery, you’d be just as well to MX5Parts it again, especially considering their quick delivery.

(I should probably add I don’t work for MX5 Parts!!!)
