Wooden steering wheels

I like wooden wheels…but I don’t like the wooden Nardi wheel, it just feels like if you have a wood steering wheel, the rim should be slim. I don’t like how thick the rims are on the more modern wooden wheels. I guess I just got used to it from my ‘66 Mustang:

Now that’s a work in progress!

I don’t know what you are talking about…that is cleaned up compared to what I started with! But yeah, the entire car is a disaster area under a constant state of construction/modification. It was a rotting shell to start with. I ended up cutting out about 70% of the sheet metal and replacing it, then modifying about 20% of what was left to fit my drivetrain of choice. So I call it a Mustang….but in reality its just a Frankenstein that looks like a Mustang on the surface

Is it a V8?

Can’t beat that sound.

Some MX-5s have a slender wooden wheel

Heh, that one looks to be the same 9-bolt pattern as the one in my Mustang…but I suspect that MOT would have something to say about it lacking an airbag. Naw, it would have been a lot simpler to but a v8 in the car(since that is what they came with originally). That thing is a v6 DOHC 3.7L from a 2012 Mustang. 300HP VVT engine. Jenvey ITBs…at least now, prior to the Jenvey ITBs I had it running on some BMW E46 ITBs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8s0wxdLbrP8

This was on wasted spark mode with just the crank sensor connected(no cam sensors) timing is a touch off(probably because the VVT solenoids aren’t connected either), and I haven’t gotten back to tuning it since that time….distracted by other parts of the build, like retrofitting Capri seats, adding AC, etc.
