Worst thing about the nd

The weak retraction on drivers seat belt

Never had this issue and not seen it before. But as I suspect it is the same system as on the NC then it would not be a surprise to here of it on older NDs.

My ND is a 2019 so well out of the warranty period. I have booked it in with the Mazda dealer in Sheffield who have quoted £450 fitted. A lot of money but what’s the alternative?

I will get the old unit back and try to get it repaired so that I have a reserve in case of reoccurrence.

Watch this space. I’m booked into the dealer for an expensive repair. My car is out of warranty unfortunately.

There are these Mazda MX-5 7" LCD 2018-2022 Touch Screen Digitizer Radio Navigation | eBay May be cheaper on here AliExpress - Online Shopping for Popular Electronics, Fashion, Home & Garden, Toys & Sports, Automobiles and More products - AliExpress ?

This Repair Guide: ND Mazda MX-5 touchscreen cracks / de-lamination | Tylerwatt12.com shows how to do it.

I thought it was a 5 yr warranty but it looks like that is only for powertrain …

In the UK it is 3 years for everything except ‘bodywork/rust’.

Has anyone on here used a Carly OBD reader on the nd/rf? You may be able to re-program the windows issue on the nd. I have an na so not an issue for me, but I used my Carly on my BMW E46. You can hold the unlock button on the key fob to open all windows and sunroof but when you hold the lock button to close everything, the rear openers (it’s a coupé) would stay open and rain could get in! So I used the Carly to program them to shut along with everything else.

I’m reading it as the multi function display in the instrument cluster not the infotainment screen.

You could well be right.

Well when im using Android Auto, the time plus phone battery and signal shows in the bottom left of the screen!

There ia a company that can repair them

There is a boot release button in the car, it’s on the key fob!

A fascinating thread, but why single out the ND?
What about its predecessors?
I’ll start the ball rolling:
NA: The inability to raise the headlights and flash them in one operation. (The Toyota MR2 managed this okay. )
NB: A tricky one, as it was almost perfect. I’m struggling, but the fixed quarter lights always irritated me. A bit…
NC: The gear change. The loss of the “rifle bolt” action of its fore-bearers.

Let’s keep this thread on topic please.

Yes!
It’s the left hand dial in the instrument display. The fault is intermittent but it was obviously working when I took this photo.

Mine does it at the same point on every journey, regardless of how long I have been driving…

As I get within a few hundred yards of the railway bridge, heading into Bawtry from Gainsborough, up pops the “take a break”.

I reckon there is a local cafe sending out messages!

So it is! I’ve only had the car just over a year

It didn’t used to be. I’ve had mine since May 22 and the time used to be displayed in the corner of the map. It was quite hard to see. For me, anyway.
There was an update some time ago (can’t remember when) which moved it to the corner of the screen outside the map which is far better.

Nothing.

What is more, I like the cup holders and the lack of a totally unnecessary glovebox.
