Wraps

does anybody know where to get a Mazda Mx5 Mk2 (02) wrapped cheap? Travel isn’t an issue.

Thanks

You could try calling Gavin or Natalie at HG Graphics, just outside Wakefield.

Don’t think wrapping and cheap go in the same sentence, depending on your definition of cheap!

I looked into this for our 1991 Eunos which is the kind of red that always needs attention.

To be honest given the age of the car the max I would pay for a 5 year solution is £300 but…

although a wrap, probably colour,  would have been the ideal solution, there were several problems.

  1. wrap material does not last as long as I would have hoped. Some will need replacing after three years. Even the best and obviously much more expensive wrap material is not likely to last more than 5 years.

  2. A professional wrap of your car will likely cost in the region of £1000.

  3. Wrapping is sufficiently skilled/difficult to preclude the DIYer from his/her own efforts which are likely to be a disaster.

Anyone else got anything to add to this. My research was limited - hopefully I have missed something or things have moved forward since I looked into this 6 months ago.

To do the job right, lights, trim, badges etc would all need to come off.

Then it’s going to be at least a 2 man job.

Factor 2 professionals working for a day and half, then the cost of material, and I could also imagine the price getting upwards of £1000 (maybe more)

Probably cheaper than a professinal full body respray though, and if you went with a custom print probably a bigger grin.

I like the idea of an Austin Powers Union Jack look, I just don’t have the guts.

Pretty much my findings. A full wrap about £1000. I fancy getting the mirrors and hard top done in carbon fibre though.
