Just looking for a smartTOP or similar controller for the PRHT, before I give up and buy a new one!
Like you, I tried for months to get a second hand one, with no luck.
I did get a new Smart Top off EBay that was considerably cheaper than anywhere else.

Good luck - they are quite rare on the second-hand market.
Just FYI, MX5things also make a module with similar functionality to the smartTOP, so it might be worth looking at those as well.
Ironicalyl I gave up and ordered the MX5Things module, now there’s a smarrtop on ebay 
MX5things module came way faster than expected, fitted easily, and I bloody love it. Auto-open definitely adds 27.3 horsepower

Did you have to pay Import Tax, VAT etc? They’re currently £146 + postage which is very tempting.
I’ve emailed them about charges - we’ll see what they say . . .

This explains the taxes due. I think Import Tax will be around 5%, and the courier (Royal Mail or whoever is used) will charge their fee for collection of the taxes.
So on £146 + £15 postage it would be £8 Import, £33.80 would be added for VAT, then the handling fee, so I’d expect it to end up costing £210-215.
