So been looking at getting coilovers on my 2.0 sport nc . I wondered if anyone had fitted yellow speed racing coilovers, they are similar price to Meister zeta crds. The only difference is a two year warranty and also states maintains a comfortable ride quality .
i cant speak about the yellow speed but i can tell you that the zeta crd’s also have a very comfortable ride quality!
got mine set to 9 clicks from soft all round and the ride is just as comfortable as the stock sport suspention but dosnt have the horrible bodyroll, nose lift and dive of 10 year old stock sports suspention.
I suspect you have happened on one of Bor Chuann’s private brands. Bor Chuann are a Taiwanese private label manufacturer, with their own brand being called BC Racing. They churn out coilovers as “Private Label”, offering different spring rates, rebound rates, colours for their customers, adding different branding to the coilover. Essentially, there is no difference. For road sets, there isn’t that much difference in spring ratings for different brands; there is only a narrow range that work for the MX5. So a coilover brand might employ engineers t come up with the right specs, but they end up with the same answer as someone else’s engineers.
Surprisingly, “Yellow Speed” isn’t a new brand; they’ve been appearing on MX5 forums, with their NC sets since at least 2014, just not so much in the UK, and they have been through several iterative “improvements”.

If you want these sort of shock (the “modular double/dual perch” types), research for the cheapest BC Racing knockoff (which will likely be BC Racing) and go with that, because they’re going to be the same, only really differing in the colour of the pretty anodizing. That doesn’t mean they are the “best”, because there is a huge amount of marketing involved, to persuade what is a pragmatic business decision (using a generic insert) into something that is a virtue
