I re-read the post
And it’s a little clearer by the sentence at the bottom, that the intention is to stay for three nights at the Premier Inn, Gargrave, near Skipton, for the nights of Friday 17th July, Sat 18th, and Sun 19th.

This sounds like I’ve come in half way through a conversation but looks like you will be landing right on my doorstep if your at Gargrave so wouldn’t mind knowing more please. ![]()
the reviews of the Premier Inn don’t make it seem very appealing ![]()
I have never had a reason to stay at the premier inn, so can’t really comment. They do have a decent car park though
. Only thing I do know is they changed the pub next door to only now be there for the guests of the Premier inn so don’t know if that may have improved anything. I had been in the pub before this and it was pretty poor service, hopefully that’s improved if they are just concentrating on the Premier inn? They always seemed to struggle with staffing in that pub before but obviously can’t go there now as I’m not likely to pay to stay at the Premier inn when I only live about 10 minutes away.
There are other places to stay which will be a lot better but will be in a different price range that’s for sure. But that depends on budgets etc.
thanks BLOGGY.
I think this looks much nicer:

not crazy money either.
or this
Coniston is a nice place. It is a wedding venue as well so might need to check the dates to ensure their not booked up for a wedding etc. Don’t know anything about the Mason arms.
There’s the Craven Heifer at Kelbrook just down the road, which has just all been done up and has good food reviews by everyone I’ve spoken to.
The Old Stone Trough at Kelbrook which is a wedding venue as well.
Plenty of places tbh well worth a view.
What’s your plans with regards the drives out in the area? Some great roads around here tbh especially if you get the weather.
BLOGGY, put your name down for it so you’ll be kept up to date.
there’s an itinerary for each day, we go in a loose convoy to each place, usually getting a meal or a break.
basically, turn up at the departure point each morning and you’ll get the directions on a sheet, it’s a set of waypoints to follow the route. It’s advised to have a navigator with you, although you can follow someone if you get separated it’s a big problem to get back on track.
Don’t want to poke my nose in too much on this but my experience at the Premier Inn Gargrave, Skipton wasn’t great. Looking at the reviews it hasn’t improved much, skip the first couple of reviews on TripAdvisor (they are always complimentary) and it’s a different story. My stay was around 6 years ago, I wouldn’t book it again even for the one night.

Good Evening
I am a little disappointed that you did not contact either myself or Andrew to voice your concerns over the choice of Hotel for our Yorkshire Weekend visit, so I thought it only right and proper to tell you the reasoning behind the decision.
First and foremost, the trip is planned for a 2 night stay, however, the 3rd night is an option for those who want a more leisurely homeward journey.
Booking at The Premier Inn is not mandatory, if you or anyone else wishes to stay elsewhere that’s fine.
Best Regards
Barry
sorry Barry, this began as me looking for confirmation of the hotel, and only when I looked more closely at it saw the reviews.
I fully understand it’s a tall order to find a hotel that meets all those requirements!
