ZINC ANTI RUST

Has anyone used davids zinc 182 primer anti rust coat, if so is how long will it take to harden?. On the can it says it has to thoroughly harden or the topcoat may crinkle, the car is in the garage and area to be painted is very small, and has been de rusted.

Will the zinc take a few hours, overnight or a week!! if it takes that long i will use a normal car primer, thanks, janet

Drying time Approximately 3-4 hours drying is required between coats, two coats are normally sufficient to give a satisfactory coating. ISOPON ZINC 182 will be ready for overcoating if left overnight to dry. The paint film can be baked at temperatures up to 120ºC. Drying time is dependent on film thickness, humidity and temperature.

Hope this helps? Comes from a PDF ‘safety and use’ document of theirs. It’s vague but overnight implies 12 hrs. Temperature? - bloomin’ cold so allow another 12?

It did come highly recommended by users on other web sites, despite the long drying time though.

Thanks very much Doug, i looked in a few places, but i could only find the same info. that is written on the tin! you have made it clearer, Janet
