Zunsport NC grill

 Hi,
Does anybody have experience of the Zunsport grill, preferably for the NC?
Like the idea of not having to take off bumper,as you do with the mazda replacement for the plastic grill.
Has anybody seen these or knowif they are any good?

Thank you in advance

Have YOU got a picture of one?

 Here’s one

I have got the ZunSport grille for my mark 1 97’ … i was very pleased with construction but fitting was a bit fiddly. … I was very impressed with the results tho best grille on the market

last year they wanted to borrow a Mk 3 for trials - never heard anything about it though [N]

Have been given a lower grille by an ex member who has sold his car. Looks like a Zunsport which has little tangs on.

Theire web site fitting instructions only seem to show the main grille. Looks like it just eases in to place without bumper coming off, is that the case with the lower grille ?

The main grille only pushes in with those tangs. Care is need to protect from scratching to the paintwork by the tangs but the lower section is black plastic anyway.

It’s a metal lower grille i have, had a quick look and is lower opening size, does it just push in with some effort as Zunsport site just says no bumper removal easy fit with a screwdriver.

Hi.

I have a Zunsport grill on my 2012 Sport tech PRHT

It fits  with 4 self tappers which need the heads reducing in diameter. I used stainless ones and did this by holding them in a cordless drill and holding the against the wheel of a bench grinder. Take care when handling the grill as the edges are razor sharp.

This is for an earlier NC, edges are smooth with 4 clips, they say just flex it and clip in. Fits the opening perfect but didn’t want to force it in. Nothing in the lower gap to screw anything to.

Just to clarify what I meant…

“The main grille only pushes in with those tangs. Care is need to protect from scratching to the paintwork by the tangs but the lower section is black plastic anyway”.

The lower section is black plastic on the car where the grille pushes into.

I’ve got the Zunsport main grille myself fitted and could do with the lower grille too, bit pricey though for what it is.

It’s the lower grille i have so does it just push into the black plastic gap and held in by the tangs ?

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I am considering a stainless mesh grill set for the front of my NC1. Options seem to be zunsport or Lockwood, but there is a substantial cost difference. Anyone done the comparison and able to share your views? Is Zunsport value for money or does Lockwood match the quality of Zunsport for much less?

I fitted a Zunsport grille to my 2006 2.0 NC. Pretty straightforward to fit and looks very good.

I needed access behind the grille as I’ve relocated the oil filter to the front of the car so it’s next to the oil cooler. So the old honeycombe grill has been partially removed behind the Zunsport grille so it’s easy to remove and get to the oil filter.

The Zunsport grille takes no more than 10 mins to fit initially, removing and replacing subsequently takes about 5 mins.

Hope this helps.

holy thread revival 11 years OMG!!

The simple answer is yes, it pushes in with just the tangs.

Many thanks, fitted now. As you say was just a push fit and thin screwdriver through the grille to ease the bottom tangs over the trim.

Surprised how open the bottom section is.
