I saw some comments above for Knockhill… i need to get there next year. would love to tie in with some MX5 owners 
@Dirtyhabit, Knockhill’s a good circuit, lots of elevation change and a good variation of corners (and good runoffs mostly!) but it’s pretty expensive.
They have a black friday deal that might be worth checking out, for £145 you get £150 of trackday credit plus 10% of any trackday
Mentioned it up the page but we were back at Crail last month and had a blast, it’s basic and flat as a pancake, but very cheap. Though tbh once you add up fuel costs, wear and tear etc there’s no such thing as a cheap trackday And it’s definitely quite high consequence, the track is massively wide but if you screw up sometimes the tyre wall is right there…
theres a track at Crail? looks like an old airstrip on google maps…
Knockhill is really good i was impressed. Bit short but great fun, especially once you learn that the kerbs are essential ha
