There are some hard sticky things stuck in the roof which are a bit like chewing gum, not sure whether it is old tree sap or bird poo - i’m hoping if we get some freezing weather that can be used to harden it and get it off, we’ll see.
I used various brands of aerosol freezer sprays at work for occasional diagnostics for decades.
Last year I tried this Motip one on a set-top-box-recorder to find if its problem was an intermittent connection or an overheating component.
It was both; a surface-mount power IC had cracked some of its solder which went open circuit when hot. Re-soldered and now good.
A freezer system was also used a few years ago at Salisbury Cathedral to clean visitors’ discarded chewing gum off the pavements around it.
The vertical ones I got from mx5parts, the diagonal ones (I only realised after taking the door apart) are actually part of the door structure, so I just sanded these down and repainted myself.
Looking for a mk1 front bumper - does anyone have one they’d be willing to sell?
Turns out that the reason for my woes with wrapping is in part to do with the areas of the car that have been resprayed; paint lift is way more prevalent on resprayed cars and both my bumpers have had resprays at some point in their past.
Ideally I need the top coat/lacquer to be in good condition but faded paint I am not at all worried about.
