'94 V-Limited "Whisper"

I brought my car about a year and a half ago. A 94 plate black V-Special. When I set out to buy a Eunos Roadster I had two main goals. Black bodywork and a 1.8 engine.

She looked good in her sales advert pictures.

But when I went to see her it was dark and raining.

But she was a good honest car and she was the one. Now, if you very much belive that all V-Limited cars are historical monuments and as such should never be tampered with you will probably be best to stop reading now. Nothing I have done to my car is irreversable… but… Som eof this might not be to your tatse.

Still here? Well you can’t say you werent warned!

First change, smoked side repeaters.

Then of course the de-tango and a respray for the reflectors to hide them a bit.

Remote central locking? Of course!

Stickers? Afraid so!

Genuine GV lip and offset plate? Check!

And to finish off the first stage of modifications. Lightly smokes sidelights.

And thats how she stood for a little while…

The problem was those wheels. Ok so they are Enkei and very nice but they were 14’s, shod in ditchfinders and were hiding in the wheel arches like a mouse in a mousehole. Not good enough!

Now thats what I call Christmas presents

No more hidden wheels!

Then came the in car computer.

Amps

Plus wires

and screen

Oh, and Playstation!

Once I had all that in. There was only one other thing I HAD to do. Any self respecting computer that lives in a car needs a voice right?

Apparently smoking your sidelights is now an MOT fail So rather than bother trying to get thru witht eh smoke or have to buy a spare set just for MOT day. There was only one sensible solution.

Zest TSI’s

There was the genuine GV lip, the Zest TSI’s and the Hello Kitty spoiler. But that just wasn’t JDM enough for me. There was only one solution.

Moar Kitties!

And that’s us up to date… 18 months in three posts… More to come!

Cerberus

 Hi Cerbs,

The rocker cover is awesome in it’s wrongness (Just like the Hello Kitty vbrt*rs available in tokyo!)

Good to see the rebel alliance still there,

All I do with mine these days is drive it!

At Shelsley Walsh I got ten smiles and four heads shaken in disgust.

Yes! Would be good to meet up with the ‘sensible southern contingent’ again!

Cerbs

One of my techs just saw the rocker cover and just said “That is wrong but he’s done a good job”!!

Sholdn’t have it as my wallpaper!!!

Love it and the camcoverThumbs up

Looking really good loving the hello kitty thing and the new wheels look very pretty!

Looking good!  I’m not one for keeping them original either, but I respect those that like to.

The Hello Kitty Cover is awesome!

Interesting , just a little bonkers for me Thumbs up.

Thanks guys

And one “you need therapy” Smile

I had a really rubbish day at work the other day. It included having to stay late to sort some things out. When it was finally finished the staff car park was empty except for Whisper.

Isn’t it amazing how a car can change your whole mood?

I didn’t realise that there was a short way home (I must have lots of bad days!!!)

The kitty thing is not my scene but the rest of the car looks great, especially like the alternative indicaters. Good one

Well if you hated the Hello Kitty Wing… You might not like the replacement…

Some ‘glamour shots’ of the trip out to the Malvern Hills we took yesterday. Featuring the first trip out of the ‘Big Gay Wing’. Shame the car was still filthy with Sahara sand :frowning:

One that was post-processed

I had a little visit from the f*ck-up-fairy at the meet last night. The KITT voicebox refused to fire into life for a demo. Upon investigation the K8055 relay board was dodo. I tried turning it off and on again but it was no good.

So I pulled the wires from the relay that controls KITT and connected an earth feed to the correct wire to jump-start him into life. That was fine till I put the wire down and it hit the live feed on the relay.

POP

In great P5 spirit a box of fuses was found! Thank you! and I set about finding the culprit. I was sure I had popped the ‘room’ fuse but it was fine. All the fuses in the fuse box were fine. So I checked the ‘master’ fuse that feeds all the aux circuits for the car pc.

 :banghead:

So that was that! One blown fuse and a dead relay control board. sigh

One of the problems with the installation of the relay control board is that I left it exposed. when the carpeted false boot floor/lid is off. The false boot floor/lid that I have never gotten round to making.

This has meant that I have to be fairly careful about letting metallic objects rattle around in the vicinity of the K8055. I’ve done quite well. But it was just asking for trouble. Last night a jump lead fell into the pcb and let teh magic smoke out of a resistor or two. So dumb of me :frowning:

So today I repaired the K8055 and then grabbed a small sheet of green acrylic from the offcuts bin.

Hot off the printer

It all fits together. Good start!

K8055 innabox

Installed, wired back in, working!! KITT lives again!!

So now I can throw the jump leads in the boot with gay abandon. With no fear of letting any magic smoke out from anywhere! Woo!
