I don’t know if it is me, but I am a little confused about this visit. Is the actual visit to Highclere Castle on the Saturday 11th, or Sunday 12th?

No worries, to clarify;

The IOW Group are coming over on Saturday 11th April 2026 and staying overnight in The Regency Park Hotel, in Berkshire.

On the Saturday Evening we are going for a meal with IOW Group and some are staying at the hotel with them.

On the Sunday we visit Highclere Castle and our slot is at 12:00

Hi Folks,

By way of an update on this visit next year, Jeff and myself have been in daily discusssion this past two days on this visit and it has shaped up nicely, in fact, too nicely, as we exceeded our numbers for Highclere’s ticket allocation But only just.

Its been a long haul for us but we are getting there and Jeff had a batch of tickets allocated to him and we overshot by two people, so Serena and I being pensioners bought our tickets direct off the highclere website last night, as there was still availability and it came in at just £1 dearer per person, so all was good

However, in Solent Area we have six members who, according to my records, expressed an interest but had not paid me via PayPal for their tickets, shown in the screegrab below and highlighted in pink;

All is not lost! …….as I found yeterday there are still tickets available online, as of yesterday evening, when I booked.

So, would the six poeple concerned, if you still wish to go, head on over to; Spring Public Opening 2026 and scroll down to the two side by side ticket tables and in the right table there are the details of the prices.

Once you have looked at the prices, continue scrolling down to the calendar and it says Arpil 2026 and select 12th April, which at the time of typing this post, still show green, indicating availability

Select your ticket for the number of people you are buying for, remebering to select Castle Entry 10:00am to 12:30pm and then proceed to checkout and pay for them

If like Serena and I you are pensioners the cost difference is only £1 more than the discounted price of the tickets jeff got allocated.

Finally, The evening meal at The White Hart, Thatcham is being worked up and they hope to be able to confirm they can accomodate 50 of us in the New Year, as there is currently a management chnge taking place. So, please reply to this forum post confirming that;

a) you have purcheased your Highclere tickets

and

b) You wish to join us for the evening meal at The White Hart Thatcham

Tickets were available the other day and OAP’s get in for £23, not that I am inferring you are an OAP😁

Both myself & Jeff and on the IOW had a “Telecon” today, as he discovered the lady he was dealing with for the Highclere Visit next year, no longer works there and the new lady who has taken on the role but has received nothing in her hand-over

So, Jeff and I are in the process of reconfirming things for “Barzilia Fernandes”, so we can ensure things run smoothly next year

To this end I have pasted a screengrab of the spreadsheet with the situation as we currently understand it for Solent Area Members.
