Ladies and Gentlemen

Good Afternoon

With the majority of the COVID-19 restrictions being lifted from next Monday (19th July), Jen and I would like to start the 2021 ‘season’ with a Run around the Fens, followed by afternoon tea at our home in Gorefield.

The format we had in mind was:

Meet at our home: ‘Merlins’, 54 Back Road, Gorefield, Near Wisbech, PE13 3PE, Tel:01945 870291, around 12:30hrs for a chat and a quick cuppa.
Followed by a 30+ mile route that winds its way around the Tydd Fen area and takes around 60 minutes to complete.
Return to ‘Merlins’ for Afternoon Tea, (Homemade Cakes, Savouries, Tea and Coffee
Followed by lots of catching up.

We have parking for plenty of cars in and around the orchard and paddocks and should the weather turn out to be on the damp side, I can move the cars and tractor out of the garage and we can move inside.

If you fancy the idea of a drive out and some refreshments please let me know and I will start the inevitable list:

We thought it was about time to kick things off so came up with a ‘safe’ starter event, more for a chance to catch up and look at what will happen going forward, especially in light of our current venue and the likelihood of it closing, (which looks imminent).
Also, thank you for your kind offer of help with the refreshments, I think we have it covered, however, if you have the time, then thank you, your help will be gratefully accepted.

Dear Barry and Jenny, What a splendid invitation and a very suitable rejoinder to the half-baked way lockdown is ending.
