I don’t think there is a lot happening in this Group . If you look at some area’s they do a lot more then the south downs group. I wanted to sign up and join this group . But it look’s to me they just want to stay over to the west of the downs. I think it needs sorting out as i’m sure there are members on the east sidr as well. If not then we need a east side group so we can do meets. car shows and pub meets.

That’s the problem, for years the area was controlled from Kent, then when it was split and we had Downs = West Sussex & East Sussex as two separate areas. Then the club in is infinite wisdom merged them back together again.

One of the problems i see is . They meet up in the day time weekdays . The pub meet is allways in Henfield in the winter that is one hour each way for me. All i’ve seen this year is a visit to firle . and one to a beech in west sussex again weekdays . . Week day’s are OK for me but what about the members that work? I went to the motor show in Eastbourne this year where they had a stand . There was no interest to talk to peopel they where just sitting talking to each outher at the rear of there car’s. When i took my cars to shows in the past i made a point to speak to peopel. Is that not how it should be. Why carn’t we get a group up for the east side
I don’t know the specifics of any particular area however in my experience merging generally happens only if there isn’t a coordinator, normally if an area is active it is supported to carry on.
Propose it to your coordinators? From my own perspective (at the other end of the country so I don’t know your geography) if someone is suggesting or offering to organise something I’ll jump at it!
Definite West Sussex bias in that listing though. No bad thing, lovely place, born and brought up there and lived there until only a few years ago.
I’m not west sussex bias was only there yesterday at Worthing. It just need’s things sorting out on the East side… I don’t mind helping out but it needs more then one to get involved. to get things sorted.

Hi. GregryC . Think we need to meet up to start things off… PM me for a time and place to meet .Was thinking about some of us go’ing to the Hooe Classic car show… That is on this sunday 6^th august . We can meet at the pub first. Just an idea… Or there is a car show on The Bexhill 100. Date Monday the 28th of August… What do members think.

Absolutely - please email eastsussex@mx5oc.co.uk if you want to organise an event, or an evening meet. I’m sure Chris & Heather would love to hear from you. They can then pop it in the calendar and advertise it for you in their email to all Members (obviously give them some notice in order for them to get this done).
Hi Ian H. Yes i will let the area coodinator know. If i get reply’s from members who want to do meet up’s and run’s out , You may be right no body on the east side wantt’s them. One can only try They have a choice
Hi Yes if anyone is interested in setting a pub meeting up in the East of our region eg Bexhill/Hastings please let us know. Currently as the area now stretches from Rye in the East to Arundel in the West arranging locations that everyone can get too is difficult. We now have some meetings at Ringmer and shortly at Berwick but all these venues require us to pre-book.

Route 66 is just down the road. Robertsbridge being the edge of my ‘manor’!
We had 43 members at the pub meeting last Saturday at the Greenman Ringmer and have another meeting in October at The Berwick Inn with the joint run with East Sussex Jaguar Club although again places need to be booked for this event.
Haven’t been to the pub at Rye harbour for some years but recall it is quite small. We find most pub’s want prebooking for most groups and are not keen if not eating. If there’s enough interest we would be willing to speak to the pub.
