BBR200 customer service

well, this and a few other threads have definitely put me off ever going near BBR!

the issue is you don’t usually hear when things go right… but you do hear when things go wrong and are not addressed properly…

My BBR 185 is working perfectly and sounds amazeballs… but basically all I have is a full exhaust system and the engine is unmodified just tuned… Would I do it again? … probably.
Would I modify my engine? nah spend the money on the chassis, brakes, wheels, rust etc…

The car is going to have a spicy engine swap if it goes bang.

As you’ve mentioned previously… I feel like part of you is hoping that this will happen! :joy:

No, we were told nothing. It was arranged with BBR to be picked up yesterday so I pushed it out of the garage ready. When it got to 1pm, I called the transport guy who said that no arrangement had been made with him.

What’s your email address?

kinda… :joy: ( but I know it will be expensive  )

Having owned a BBR200 NC for a short while, I can confirm that my example did not make any obvious ticking noise. It had already covered 20k miles or so with the conversion in place when I purchased it, and continued to run well, without issue.
Here’s hoping for a simple and inexpensive resolution to your problem.

How “Spicy” exactly ? What are your dreams made of ??

the seed that has been planted…

and I’m thinking to go along these lines…

then again Caterham uses the same duratec engines as we have in the NC (they use dry sump ITBS i think different cams and tune) and are reliable little things at 210bhp

So its possible to get a good setup, its just to find the right person to do it.

That really sucks dude. I have read too many problems at BBR when service is needed. They charge good money so you should be able to expect good service. ckleanth is right in saying you mostly hear bad things but by far I haven’t read that many negative stories about any other shop.

What did BBR say?

Still not heard anything.

It’s all very character building.
Not sure what kind of character mind.

Apologies if I missed this - the thread is quite long now. What was the outcome of taking the car to the local specialist? I assume this was before you went back to BBR or did you cancel that in favour of attempting to resolve via BBR?

It was before it went back to BBR and he didn’t want to touch it.

Oh, that’s not encouraging. Fingers crossed that you get progress with BBR.

I would be removing the serpentine belt myself :man_shrugging::man_shrugging::man_shrugging::man_shrugging::man_shrugging:
