If im honest I can’t really have a cat as I own squirrells… and I’d hate for tmy babies to die of fright or something…
With regards to rescues… they won’t adopt to me because I work full time…
I am lucky to be able to bring my dog to work everyday, couldn’t have one otherwise. But I’ve tried a fair few and they have all said no… I cant win !
And yes… staffies are the best… completely stupid animals :joy:

Yea I do own squirrels… african pygmy squirrels. No not wild haha.
Tiny little guys probably no bigger than a hamster.
And I can afford the upkeep and a dog for sure… but the price tag on covid puppies breaks me…
Extortionate money…
I cant afford that… people are asking way too much…

WOW…Impressed Re Squirrels !

Sounds Like You’re Waiting Like Many on the Price of Pups Coming Down
Rather Than Rescue ?

Hi Amber… Think I heard somewhere that as we come out from covid, puppy prices will fall quite significantly. I’m just hoping those who bought them during the last 16 months actually keep them…!

As I read it you already have one dog, look after it as pet thefts, especially dogs are rife at the moment! Then if you really do need another one wait until some sort of reality returns.
PS: Re dog thefts are rife. A local boarding kennels was targeted and around 12 dogs were stolen!

Something which steals pets is nothing more than a sick, evil piece of worthless scum.

The word something deliberately used here, as ‘someone’ describes a person. Something which steals pets isn’t a person. They don’t earn that tag.

Unfortunately you read wrong… my dog was put to sleep. I dont have a dog anymore…

Sorry Amber, I read your post where you said you took your dog to work with you, I assumed it was the current situation as I’d missed the one about your loss. But as said, be patient, now is not a good time to buy a dog, pricewise or otherwise. Take care!

I am one of the lucky ones that was allowed to being their dog to work everyday… very lucky as I couldn’t have a dog otherwise. Its cruel to leave it at home all day.
And your right… now isn’t the time… buddy fell into my space, shall we say. He was a rescue also.
Hes fixed me so I fixed him…

Amber. Just a thought. Before considering a puppy, in view of your earlier comments about not leaving it alone all day. Make sure for certain that your place of work will allow you to bring it with you. A mature, trained dog is one thing, an untrained puppy needing lots of attention is another, and might cause a problem with the “Health and Safety” regulations. Do not rush into making a decision. Don’t get carried away by other’s enthusiasm, they are not limited by your constraints. Better to be safe than sorry.

Grandpa.

Fear not… we have had puppies here before… there is a dedicated pen upstairs. And all of us take turns to toilet the puppy…
My work actually has a donation jar off our own back and sponsors several rescues…
Home from home… so dogs do not go into kennels.
All of are dog owners (bar me now)… ive even had my boss write a letter to several rescues explaining my situation and dogs being allowed at my work. Health and safety etc etc.

I would never put an animal at risk for my own needs…

That’s great, I never thought for one moment you’d risk your pet or yourself, I just wanted to make sure that it wouldn’t jeopardise you having your job. :+1:
