Had this NC3 since Jan & is generally running very well.
In recent weeks tickover ( whilst still smooth) has dropped a little to 700-750 rpm & car feels on the verge of stalling in manoeuvring & some heavy traffic type situations. Also a little rough pulling away sometimes. OBD2 was whinging about low voltage- 13v, not completely shabby!
Fearing dying battery & or alternator I applied the voltmeter this morning. All good batt=12.6v resting & alt putting out a healthy 14.1v. Noticed a small amount of crud on the neg terminal. After 5 mins of a vigorous emery cloth workout & the usual startup procedure a quick spin revealed that all is forgiven. Almost feels like a different car!
Learning outcome for me. These NCs are really very sensitive to even slight changes in their electrical needs.

Might have more to do with the fact that the car recalibrates throttle position after the battery is disconnected.
True ,That was my 1st thought, I had unsuccessfully tried that.
