Can you go to watch?

Hi Steve, I think so & I believe passengers are also allowed but can check this out for you

I’ve had it confirmed that spectators are allowed, I’m told there is space along the pitwall, so come along & support Mission Motorsport.

Bring a helmet and spectate from an (otherwise empty) passenger seat.

i would imagine quite a few people may not own helmets (inc me)
Will there be helmets available to borrow?Cool

You might find someone with a spare.

Lidl are selling some open face ones for £25, and some closed face ones (for £35 IIRC).  Well worth getting one.

The Lidl helmets are okay for road use, but I don’t think that they are aceptable for track use, check before you buy.

Give the karting centre a ring on 01446 795568 and see if you can hire one from them - I’d take a thin beanie along though, hire lids can be a bit minging.

These will all be up to track standard.

Thanks for the feedback, chaps Thumbs up

I know they’re life-savers (before anyone starts) but i bl**dy hate helmets
Probably because they make me feel claustrophobic - and i don’t suffer that much
but
yes, if i wanna go out on a track then that’s the way it is

Jo,

Helimed are doing ride-outs at the mo, get on Helimed 61 for the day and I’ll give you my old one (undamaged and nit-free!)

Why don’t you think that they are acceptable for track use?  Do you have some first-hand knowledge of being refused entry for wearing a particular helmet?

IME, any road-legal helmet (with a visor) is fine at a track-day.  Fireproof helmets are a requirement for certain forms of motorsport.

Have you tried an open face helmet, I borrowed one of the new club ones at Blyton last year and they are not as ristricting (IMHO).

No but that would be a serious consideration

I’ve had an offer as it is so Llandow is sorted but if i am going to continue to blag rides getting my own helmet may be worth further more serious consideration anyway Geek

Thank you SwD Thumbs up

Hi Jon (nearly missed this)
Paramedics get ride outs over Techs.
Shame since i’ve wanted to do this for longer than most of the paramedics have been in the service (bah humbug lol)
BUT
if i hear that 61’s taking EMTs before 59 you may find me hammering on the door… by your permission, Captain Thumbs up
and
diolch! Dancing

 FYI,

Any Road legal helmet shoud do. Open or full face as you are not in an open car.

To require a full face helmet you would need a car with no windshield or air deflector.

And I think you can borrow helmets from the OC.

Contact Jon Earp / Smith our Motorsport cordinator who just happens to be involved in Mission MotosportWink

Enjoy yourself and have fun. cos thats what its all about.

Alan

It’s gone a bit quite on this post, is the event still on Saturday?

Only up the road may turn up to watch and have breakfast

Hi Steve, yes its definately still on, looking forward to it, not sure if Llandow is ready for me Wink
